SKI

The Evasion Mont-Blanc ski experience covers the whole area of Saint-Gervais, Saint Nicolas de Veroce, Megeve and Combloux and also includes the slopes at les Contamines Montjoie. The Saint-Gervais communal territory covers the most extreme difference in altitude in Europe. In total more than 400km of pistes are directly accessible from valley lifts.

There is skiing to suit all levels, from beginners to the most experienced, with 24 green, 42 blue, 52 red and 19 black ski runs and 125 ski lifts from an altitude of 1000 to 2350 metres.

The challenging ski pass "Mont Blanc" gives access to the whole of the Chamonix valley plus Courmayeur in Italy.

Besides skiing, guests can vary their trip with other exhilarating sports and activities, from snowboarding, cross country skiing, walking and hiking, husky sledding, tobogganing and ice skating. More information can be obtained from www.st-gervais.net - the official site of the Saint Gervais Tourist Office.

The Mont Blanc Tramway runs from the centre up to the Bionnassay glacier in the heart of the mountains. The outstanding views and the sheer majesty of Mont Blanc will take your breath away. The 4810m summit of Mont Blanc means the resort has one of the most extreme altitude differnces in Europe: ranging from 580 to 4810 metres. For an idea of the terrain see the piste map.

THE REAL ALPINE EXPERIENCE

St Gervais is a picturesque resort at the entry of the Valley Montjoie on the western side of Mont Blanc. Unlike many other resorts it was not built for the sole purpose of skiing, and the difference in the architecture shows.

There are plenty of restaurants, bars, shops and services which all add to the character of the place as well as making for an enjoyable holiday. St Gervais is easy to reach by both car and train and it is a great base camp for exploring the Mont Blanc region.

Being more of a town than a ski resort there is plenty to do if the snow report is looking bad including relaxing in the thermal baths! Other activities on offer for include paragliding, ice skating, a swimming pool and snow shoe walks.

Creche is available with the ESF for children from 18 months to 3 years. For people of all ages from 4 years up enrol in ski school lessons.
